Karen Laming, the owner of Physio Express,

has over 20 years experience as a Physiotherapist.

 

 Karen founded Physio Express because

of her passion for helping people in the community

lead more active and fulfilling lives.

Servicing Gold Coast and Tweed Coast  

North from Pimpama, west to Mudgeeraba, Nerang and Tallebudgera and Currumbin Valleys,

and south to Mullumbimby and Murwillumbah.

Karen Laming 

(Neurological Physiotherapist,

Vestibular Physiotherapist, Director)

Karen has over 25 years experience as a Physiotherapist graduating from Sydney University in 1993 with Honours.   Karen founded Physio Express in 2006 and since then has been providing rehabilitation services to clients on the Gold and Tweed Coasts.

 

Karen has attained the title of Neurological Physiotherapist from the Australian Physiotherapy Association.  Karen has also completed advanced post-graduate study in the field of Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy including competency-based training by Dr. Susan Herdman’s team in New Zealand. 

 

Her specialist areas include management of Parkinson's Disease and cerebellar conditions, vestibular rehabilitation, balance problems, functional retraining after aquired brain injury and post spinal cord injury.

 

Karen's ambition is to create a place where people with Neurological conditions can be educated about their health condition, feel empowered to improve their physical abilities, reach their full potential after injury or whilst living with a disease or disorder. 

 

Karen is available to see clients at Neuro Junction clinic rooms.

Paige Hooper

(APA Titled Neurological Physiotherapist)

Paige Hooper graduated from the University of Qld in 1999 and has extensive experience working within the field of neurological and rehabilitative physiotherapy both in the United Kingdom and Australia.

 

Paige is qualified as a titled Neurological Physiotherapist with the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Paige teaches neurological physiotherapy at Bond University and has a post graduate certificate in education as well as post graduate qualifications in vestibular rehabilitation and amputee management. She is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Neurology Committee in Queensland.

Her areas of interest and specialist experience include: Spasticity and muscle overactivity management, rehabilitation following stroke and acquired brain injury, running retraining and return to sport post Acquired Brain Injury and rehabilitation and Management of Cerebellar Conditions, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease.

She has a passion for working with people with neurological conditions towards achieving all of their lifestyle goals.

Paige provides physiotherapy services at our clinic at Palm Beach.

Jemma Thomas 

(Occupational Therapist)

Jemma has worked as an Occupational Therapist for over 15 years. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy in 2005 in the United Kingdom.

 

Jemma has worked in a wide range of clinical settings from acute hospitals, rehabilitation units and in the community. Jemma has worked in the public and private sectors in the settings of neurology, neuro- rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury teams, a national behavioural unit for brain injury and stroke rehabilitation.

 

Her main passion is working with clients who have sustained an acquired or traumatic brain injury; helping them to achieve their goals, regain life skills, improving participation in community activities and developing independence with activities of daily living.

 

Jemma is able to goal set and develop specific rehabilitations plans based on the client’s goals; working in conjunction with families and care givers.

 

Outside of her working life, Jemma enjoys being active, keeping fit and socialising with friends.

Jemma provides services at the clinic or at your home.

Aurthur Thomas-Angelo 

(Physiotherapist, Vestibular Physiotherapist)

Aurthur graduated with a double degree including Exercise Science (in 2007) and Physiotherapy (in 2010) from Griffith University here on the Gold Coast.

 

Aurthur has completed additional study in vestibular physiotherapy.  He enjoys the challenge of helpingg those with vestibular dysfunction and balance problems.

 

Aurthur has comprehensive experience in the area of neurological physiotherapy.  His areas of interest include stroke rehabilitation and exercise in Parkinson's Disease. 

 

Aurthur is passionate about working closely with clients to achieve their goals.

Rachel Clinch 

(Physiotherapist) 

Rachel graduated with Distinction from Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy), University of Sydney in 1995.

 

With 20+ years of clinical experience, she has worked in rehabilitation across various healthcare settings, from ICU to the community, including Brain Injury and Aged Care specialist units.

Rachel is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Neurology Group.  She has undertaken further professional development in the areas of neurological physiotherapy, spinal cord injury management, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and geriatric physiotherapy.

Rachel has worked extensively as a clinical and staff educator. Rachel also enjoys coaching Pilates and Body Balance.

 

She is committed to the delivery of evidence based holistic Physiotherapy treatment to assist patients achieve their desired goals.

Rachel provides services at the clinic or at your home.

Brettney Humphrys

(Physiotherapist) 

Brettney graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Physiotherapy from Griffith University Gold Coast. Brettney has previously worked in the private sector and aged care facilities where her clientele involved managing chronic diseases, rehabilitation and falls prevention. Since, Brettney wanted to redirect her focus towards helping people in their own home environment.

She thoroughly enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological condition, in particular stroke rehabilitation and Parkinson's disease. She uses individualised program and goal orientated treatment to help clients reach their potential.

Outside working hours, Brettney spends most of her time gardening, playing netball or at the beach with her two beautiful puppies

Anthony Jackson

(Physiotherapist) 

Anthony graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 2009 and has spent the better part of the last 10 years working in musculoskeletal private practice across Australia and the United Kingdom.

Like most physiotherapists Anthony's ethos is centred largely around movement quality and quantity and he believes strongly that our daily habits are the making of our long term outcomes.

Anthony takes great pride in working collaboratively with each of his patients to frame targeted, achievable goals and to enact a plan that is both sustainable and effective..

Sarah Stone

(Occupational Therapist)

Sarah graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2000 from the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry having previously attained a degree in Psychology with Sociology at Derby University in 1997.

 

Sarah has extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation having worked across inpatient, rehabilitation, outpatient and community settings. Sarah also has experience in case management for clients following acquired brain injuries.

 

She has a special interest in working with people who have sustained brain injuries as well as those with multiple sclerosis and following stroke.

Eva isaksson

(Physiotherapist)

Eva received her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Karolinska Institute University in Sweden and further completed a Master's degree in Physiotherapy Sports Injuries and Sports Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Manual Therapy.

Eva practiced in Sweden for many years before moving to Australia in 2004. Eva's extensive post graduate education includes women's and men's health with retraining of the pelvic floor muscles for incontinence.

Eva's caring but professional approach will ensure you are receiving quality care with a friendly smile. Eva is dedicated to using her Physiotherapy skills to help her clients be the the best they can be.

Sarah Anderson 

(Physiotherapist)

Sarah’s journey into Physiotherapy began when she was working as a Physiotherapy aide in several nursing homes where she was running exercise/falls prevention/balance classes. She soon realised how much of an impact Physiotherapists have on this population. This inspired Sarah attained her Bachelor of Exercise Science at Griffith University and she then went onto complete her Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University.

She believes exercise is the best medicine for any condition and loves to keep the community moving any way she can!

Michelle Loring  

(Receptionist/ 

Administration)

Michelle warm and caring nature will ensure you feel welcome and comfortable at our Neuro Junction clinic at Palm Beach. She manages the day-to-day operation of the practice, striving to bring about excellent service and friendliness to each and every patient.

Kate Brown 

(Accounts Manager)

Kate is a valuable member of Physio Express and Neuro Junction. She has extensive accounting experience. Kate’s attention to detail and efficiency ensure the smooth running of the accounts section of Physio Express and  Neuro Junction.

Sue King 

(Business Development Manager)

Sue has been part of the Physio Express team since January 2015 and has helped grow the business substantially.  She has been involved with setting up Neuro Junction from conception to completion.  Her passion is supporting businesses through efficiency and innovation.
