What is multiple sclerosis?

It is estimated that more than 25,600 people are living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in Australia. MS is a progressive disease of the central nervous system which can reduce your function and quality of life. This condition causes scars to develop on the nerves within your body, leading to various symptoms such as pain, spasticity, fatigue, loss of coordination, reduced balance and spasms.

These symptoms can present in one of three pathways:

  • Relapsing-remitting

  • Secondary progressive

  • Primary progressive

How can physio express help me?

During your remitting phases our goal is to improve your functional goals and during the relapsing phase we work with you to maintain your function.
