what is parkinson’s disease?

Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement and can limit activities of daily living. Parkinson's is the second most common neurological condition and latest research indicates that more than 100,000 Australians are living with Parkinson's. People with Parkinson’s Disease may have difficulties with:

  • tremors

  • stiffness

  • weakness

  • slowness of movement

Whether you are newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease or later in your journey, we offer home visits to improve your quality of life. We use a collaborative approach to work with you and your loved ones to set achievable goals to assist you in work-related tasks, sporting interests and hobbies.

  • specific training related to the stage of your Parkinson’s Disease

  • educate you about your condition and the benefits of exercise

  • individualised exercise programs targeting your symptoms such as tremor, stiffness, weakness and speed of movement

  • providing advice about equipment for mobility and activities of daily living
